Dyson, a company known for high-end home appliances and audio products, on Thursday launched its second active noise cancellation headphones called OnTrac— first audio only over ear headset.
The product was launched in a YouTube video by Jake Dyson, the son of company founder and vacuum cleaner pioneer James Dyson.
"We have an app where these microphones record that sound and relay to you not only what's being canceled from the external sounds to your ears, but how your ears are being protected by harmful noises externally," he said.
The wireless headphones come with customisable earcups – more than 2,000 variations -- and cushions and a visor on the front for air purification along with a headset.
The headphones are made from premium materials and high-end finishes that make them comfortable to wear.
According to the UK company, its headphones have a custom Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) algorithm that comprises eight microphones and samples external sound 3,84,000 times in a second, which helps effectively reduce the noise by up to 40 dB.
The headphones are powered by 40 mm drivers, have 16-ohm neodymium speaker drivers, and advanced signal processing that allows you to hear every note or word.
OnTrac headphones can also reproduce frequencies ranging from 6Hz to 21,000Hz, which lets users enjoy the deep sub-bass and clear highs. The headphones can last up to 55 hours on a single charge as it has two high-capacity lithium-ion battery cells. The headphones are available in four different colors.
The company has not shared any definitive time for launch, by OnTrac will be available soon in India.
