Microsoft Designer App now available on iOS and Android

Microsoft's AI-powered Designer App, which allows users to create custom images, stickers, and other visual content, is now available for iOS and Android users with personal Microsoft accounts.

"Designer is now available as a free mobile app (iOS and Android). It’s packed with AI-powered features to unlock your creativity on the go—including creating images and designs with words and editing images to make them pop," Microsoft said in a blog on Wednesday.

The app also has an avatar creator which prompts users to use it on the mobile version of the app.

The designer app will allow users to edit or restyle existing images, and remove people, objects, or backgrounds from images. Users can add AI-generated borders or text to images and transfer their images into different styles like pop art, paper craft, or doodle directly on mobile apps.

At present, Microsoft Designer is available as a standalone app but can be accessed through Copilot in apps like Word and PowerPoint. With a Copilot subscription, users can create images and designs in other apps.

Windows Insiders will get access to the Designer in Photos app on Windows 11 and editing features will be available directly on the Photos. Microsoft Edge will also have a similar feature soon.

The app is supported in more than 80 languages on the web and can be accessed freely on both mobile and Windows. However, users are limited to 15 "boosts" daily for editing or creating images in the app. A Copilot Pro subscription ($20 per month) increases this limit to 100 "boosts" per day with additional features.
